So my Ha Long Bay experience was a bit underwhelming to tell you the truth. I went on a two-day, one-night tour from Hanoi and it was average at best. Given that I was spending two whole days on this shitty little boat, I was expecting for the tour to take us quite far out into the bay, but this was not the case. Ha Long City is four hours from Hanoi, so we didn’t actually get on the boat until about 1pm on Day 1. After lunch, the afternoon was spent floating around the bay visiting one cave and one kayaking stop and then being anchored in the middle of nowhere overnight. On day two, all we did was make our way back to the harbour and then get on the bus to Hanoi! Not a very exciting experience at all, but I got to see Ha Long Bay and I got the photos to prove it and that’s all anyone really cares about these days, right?
